Accessibility Statement

Effective Date: July 21, 2026

High West Legacy Project LLC, doing business as Start Western Riding (“Start Western Riding,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), is committed to making our website, directory, educational resources, and digital services accessible to as many people as possible, including people with disabilities.

We believe western riding should feel welcoming and approachable, and we want that same standard reflected in the way people experience our Platform.

1. Our Accessibility Commitment

We are working to provide an inclusive digital experience for users with a wide range of abilities, technologies, and access needs.

Our accessibility efforts may include:

  • Designing pages that can be navigated using a keyboard.
  • Supporting screen readers and other assistive technologies.
  • Using readable fonts and clear page structures.
  • Maintaining appropriate color contrast.
  • Adding alternative text to meaningful images.
  • Providing labels and instructions for forms.
  • Using headings in a logical order.
  • Avoiding reliance on color alone to communicate important information.
  • Providing captions, transcripts, or other alternatives for multimedia where practical.
  • Making links and buttons understandable.
  • Supporting browser zoom and text enlargement.
  • Reviewing new Platform features for accessibility.

The U.S. Department of Justice recognizes that inaccessible web content can prevent people with disabilities from obtaining equal access to goods, services, and information. It identifies established technical standards, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, as useful guidance for improving accessibility. (ADA.gov)

2. Accessibility Standard

Start Western Riding aims to follow generally recognized accessibility practices and to work toward substantial conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.2, Level AA, where reasonably practical.

WCAG 2.2 is a W3C web accessibility standard that builds on earlier versions and includes additional guidance involving navigation, target sizes, dragging interactions, consistent help, and accessible authentication. (W3C)

This statement describes our accessibility goals and ongoing efforts. It is not a representation that every page, feature, document, or third-party integration currently conforms to every WCAG success criterion.

3. Ongoing Improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing process, particularly as Start Western Riding introduces new:

  • Business listings.
  • Rider profiles.
  • Directory filters.
  • Quizzes.
  • Artificial intelligence features.
  • Educational resources.
  • Videos and podcasts.
  • Community tools.
  • Marketplace services.
  • Booking tools.
  • Mobile experiences.
  • Business software.
  • Third-party integrations.

We may periodically review the Platform using a combination of:

  • Automated accessibility testing.
  • Manual review.
  • Keyboard testing.
  • Screen reader testing.
  • User feedback.
  • Developer and vendor reviews.

We may prioritize improvements based on the seriousness of a barrier, the importance of the affected feature, the number of users affected, and the resources reasonably available to us.

4. Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some content or features may not yet be fully accessible.

Possible limitations may include:

  • Older documents or downloadable files.
  • User-submitted photographs or videos.
  • Business-submitted content.
  • Embedded maps.
  • Social media content.
  • Third-party booking tools.
  • Third-party payment systems.
  • Advertising technology.
  • Videos without captions or transcripts.
  • Interactive features still under development.
  • Content supplied by external businesses, contributors, sponsors, or vendors.

We are working to identify and address meaningful barriers as the Platform develops.

5. Third-Party Content and Services

The Platform may include links, widgets, maps, videos, payment systems, advertisements, booking tools, social media features, and other services provided by third parties.

We do not control the accessibility of every third-party website, application, or service. However, accessibility may be considered when we select vendors and technology partners.

Questions or concerns involving a third-party service may need to be directed to that provider.

6. Business and User-Submitted Content

Businesses, contributors, and users may submit content to the Platform, including:

  • Photographs.
  • Videos.
  • Logos.
  • Business descriptions.
  • Articles.
  • Reviews.
  • Event information.
  • Documents.
  • Links.

We may edit, format, label, or supplement submitted content to improve accessibility, but we cannot guarantee that all user-submitted content will be fully accessible.

We encourage contributors and businesses to provide:

  • Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images.
  • Captions for videos.
  • Clear link descriptions.
  • Readable documents.
  • Plain-language descriptions.
  • Accessible color contrast in graphics.

7. Alternative Access

When reasonably possible, we will work with users who experience difficulty accessing important information or completing an essential action through the Platform.

Depending on the request, we may be able to provide information through an alternative format or communication method.

The availability and timing of an alternative will depend on the nature of the content, the requested accommodation, and the resources reasonably available to us.

8. Accessibility Feedback

We welcome feedback about accessibility barriers on Start Western Riding.

When contacting us, please include:

  • The page, feature, or content you were trying to access.
  • The web address, when available.
  • A brief description of the problem.
  • The device and browser you were using, if known.
  • The assistive technology you were using, if applicable.
  • The format or accommodation that would be helpful.
  • Your preferred method of response.

Please do not include sensitive medical information unless it is necessary to explain the requested accommodation.

9. Response to Accessibility Requests

We will make reasonable efforts to:

  • Acknowledge accessibility reports.
  • Review the issue.
  • Identify a practical solution.
  • Provide an alternative when reasonably available.
  • Correct meaningful barriers as resources permit.

Response and remediation times may vary depending on the complexity of the issue, whether a third-party provider is involved, and the development work required.

10. No Retaliation

Start Western Riding does not tolerate retaliation against anyone who requests an accommodation, reports an accessibility concern, or provides accessibility feedback in good faith.
